GET INVOLVED (VOLUNTEERS)

"As part of the program launch team, I've been volunteering for three years and have found the experience of mentoring and coaching to be very rewarding," said Mark Hoyt, former director of finance at Motorola and current vice president of international finance at CareerBuilder. "Watching the student’s eyes light up as they pull a real business together and then seeing their new confidence as they pitch the ideas to a panel of judges makes me proud of what the volunteer entrepreneurs and my colleagues from Motorola have been able to help the students accomplish."

The CEC is always looking for new volunteers to help mentor our students. Volunteers are needed during the school year to help the students create business ideas, develop complete business plans and present their plans to a group. The majority of the program sessions take place at schools on the South Side of Chicago. Sessions are held 6-8 times per month. Volunteers can attend individual sessions or participate on a continual basis. Contact the CEC to determine your optimal level of involvement and learn more about the benefits of participating.
